What the photos can settle, and what they cannot
The inspection is the last point where a search mistake is still cheap to fix. It helps to know in advance exactly which mistakes it catches.
Six things the inspection looks at

The published scope is appearance, colour, large-area damage, stains, size, and the model or version number. Apparel is checked against the listing it came from. That list is worth memorising because it is also, by omission, the list of things nobody will check.
Settled by the photos
Whether the colour matches the swatch you picked, whether the size label is the size you chose, whether the thing arrived damaged, and whether the version code matches.
In other words: whether the seller shipped the variant you ordered. That is a search-and-variant question, which is why it lands here.
Not settled by the photos
Authenticity, fabric weight, how it fits a body, smell, whether the colour reads differently in daylight, and whether you will like it.
A photo of a folded garment on a table cannot answer any of those, and no number of extra photos changes that.
How to read the QC photos, and how to ask for another

The dialog says each photo answers exactly one request. Ask for a logo close-up and a measurement together and you get one of the two. Write the measurement you want in centimetres and name the part: shoulder seam to shoulder seam, not is it true to size.
Ask for a measurement, not an opinion
A tape against a seam is a fact. Whether something runs small is a judgement nobody in the warehouse is positioned to make.
Ask for the label, not the brand
A photograph of the care label settles the composition and the size marking. It settles nothing about authenticity and will not be read that way.
Ask within the window
The refund countdown runs in hours from Stocked in. An extra photo that arrives after it expires is information you can no longer act on.
Ask once, specifically
One requirement per photo is the stated rule, so vague requests consume the slot without answering anything.
Two clocks, running at different speeds
| Clock | Length | Starts at | What it governs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Storage | 60 days free | Arrival at the warehouse | After it runs out the item is treated as abandoned unless an extension is bought, priced at 10 yuan per product. |
| Return and exchange | 120 hours | The status reading Stocked in | Requesting a return or exchange. Return shipping and a service fee are yours unless the fault is the seller's. |
The short one is the one that matters. Five days is enough to look at photos and decide; it is not enough to wait for an item to arrive, change your mind, and come back.
Shipping, to the depth a search decision needs
Weight and size decide the international line, and both are consequences of what you searched for. A padded jacket and a t-shirt are different shipping problems before they are different clothes.
An estimator query for a 1 kg parcel bound for the United States, run on 2026-10-10, came back with 37 lines of which only 12 carried a price. Those twelve ran from 21.41 to 83.95 dollars, a fourfold spread, with transit windows between 5 and 25 days. The three lowest quotes were all postal routes, within a few dollars of each other.
That gap is the useful part. Choosing between the bottom of that range and the top is a sixty-dollar decision on a one-kilogram parcel, which is often more than the item cost. It is also a decision you make after the search is over, on a weight you did not choose.
Five of those twelve priced lines came back flagged as not insurable, and they are not all the cheap ones: two postal routes, and the quickest of the twelve, are among them. If the contents are worth insuring, that is a line choice made before the parcel is submitted, not a question asked after something goes missing.
Questions this page gets
How many free inspection photos are there
Three different official figures exist and they were published at different times. A help article says the inspection normally produces three standard photos. A mobile page mirrored 2026-06-30 promises three to eight. A 2024-09 warehouse frame shows six thumbnails under the words Free Photos. Expect three, and treat more as a bonus.
Can I ask for a specific photo
Yes, as an Extra Photo, and the dialog is explicit that one requirement fits only one photo. The dialog in the archive prices it at 1.00 yuan each with a monthly free allowance shown as zero at that moment.
Does the inspection check whether the item is genuine
No. The receipt notice says plainly that genuine, fake and imitation brands cannot be identified. The inspection is a comparison against the listing, not an authentication.
How long can the item sit in the warehouse
Sixty days free. After that it is treated as abandoned unless you buy an extension, priced in the help text at 10 yuan per product. The separate return window is much shorter: 120 hours from the moment the status reads Stocked in.
